Castrol Braycote 2115 Aircraft Bearing Grease
Castrol Braycote™ 2115 (previously called Molub-Alloy™ 2115) is a range of greases that are thermally stable, high-temperature synthetic bearing lubricants. It is designed to significantly extend the service life of bearings that operate at high temperatures, and is formulated to last longer than conventional greases. This also means longer relubrication intervals, which can cut maintenance costs and requirements.
Products in the Castrol Braycote 2115 range are formulated from an advanced synthetic base fluid and thickened with a temperature-stable non-soap base. Braycote 2115 contains lubricating solids for outstanding protection against wear and resistance to high temperatures, which makes it the top choice among aviation greases for wheel bearings, landing gear bearings and other key components.
As well as certain aviation components, Braycote 2115 is recommended for bearings operating in paint-drying ovens, textile tentering frames, and similar applications. Thanks to their low volatility when exposed to heat, Braycote 2115 products need minimal reapplication and deliver drip-free performance. By reducing reapplication timelines and offering a higher standard of protection for longer, this aviation grease can extend component life spans for key aircraft parts.
Braycote 2115 can be used in continuous service at 250°C / 482°F and may be exposed to intermittent temperatures up to 280ºC / 536ºF. Forced draft ventilation should be used at temperatures exceeding 250ºC / 482ºF. Braycote 2115 can be applied manually or with automatic dispensing equipment.
